Guest Chef Night with Chef Brendan McGill of Hitchcock Restaurant Group
Please join us as we welcome Chef Brendan McGill of the Hitchcock Restaurant Group for a special evening as we celebrate our students, build community and enjoy an incredible meal. Guest Chef Night pairs premier local chefs with FareStart students to create a three-course meal served by volunteer community members. All revenue and donations from Guest Chef Night support FareStart’s job training and placement programs.
Brendan McGill was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. A youth steeped in wilderness and natural bounty, guided by a craftsman father and educator mother, turned out a curious cook with an appetite for discovery. He moved to Seattle to pursue his career as a chef.
Ten years later, Brendan opened Hitchcock, a Pacific Northwestern farm-to-table restaurant. The Hitchcock Restaurant Group grew to include two spin-off cafes and a bar, a Neapolitan pizzeria, an organic farm, a fermented foods line, an oyster bar, a CSA program and an award-wining seafood and vegetable concept, which occupies the original Hitchcock space.
Brendan has been recognized as a James Beard Foundation Semifinalist (Best Chef Northwest), Star Chefs Rising Star, Food & Wine People’s Best New Chef, and Eater Seattle’s Chef of the Year. Brendan continues to explore the region’s foods, perennially diving deeper into the sources and processes, while leading business and culinary development for the restaurant group.
