A Sunny Day of Golf Raises Funds for FareStart Job Training and Food Security Programs

August 5, 2022

We had so much fun at the Annual Amazon Golf Tournament fundraiser! Despite the heat, over 250 golfers, volunteers and staff came out to The Golf Club at Newcastle to raise $215,000 in funds to transform lives and nourish communities. We shared golf tips, meals and stories about how FareStart is helping people change their own lives.

Every foursome enjoyed spectacular views at each hole. Our CEO, Angela Dunleavy, along with Jasmine Donovan, President and CFO of Dick’s Drive-In, delivered burgers to all the hungry golfers for a mid-day pick-me-up. Everyone was overjoyed to receive delicious Dick’s burgers to help provide energy and maybe improve some golf swings.

We were happy to end the afternoon bidding on great auction items and learning more about FareStart from our COO, Ryan Dean. Ryan shared with golfers the impact that these funds make for our FareStart students and our community facing food insecurity.

Amazon is one of FareStart’s biggest supporters, from monitory and volunteer support, to the 7,000-square-foot space in Interbay they not only donated, but built out to specifically fit the needs of our food security work.

We want to show appreciation to sponsors who made sure everyone had a great time for a good reason: Amazon, Callaway, AWS/AMD, SalesforceDick’s Drive-InSlalomParker, Smith & Feek, and Synthetic Turf Northwest.

We hope you will join us next year!
