Angela Stowell, FareStart CEO, shares about her first few months at FareStartAngela Stowell, FareStart CEO, shares about her first few months at FareStart.

We all have a part to play to take action to end poverty and homelessness in our community and even though it's hard work, we can do it together.

In my first few months on the job at FareStart, I've spent time in the kitchens, cooked with the Community Meals team, hung out with our Youth Culinary students - they're hilarious, smart and wonderful - and took a few turns behind the till at Rise and Community Table with our apprentices.

I truly feel like I'm where I belong and our students feel the same way.

I asked a student, who has struggled with addiction, what he had learned so far, he said: "You know, I'm really just learning to become a human again." Sometimes, it's really just that basic.

My time here so far has heartened me. It has shown me what is really possible when you believe in people, when you empower them. That's what we do here at FareStart. It is our heart and you are a big part of it.

Support FareStart Students

Our students show up every day despite whatever hardships they face. They are making their own path and it is an inspiration to be part of their journey.

Thank you for your critical part in this work, for the resources you provide and for your belief in our students and our mission.

I want to invite you to donate this holiday season to help FareStart students on their paths out of poverty and homelessness. Until the end of the year, Amazon will be matching all donations dollar for dollar up to $1 million!
