Bio

Chef Ryan Donaldson, a native of the Northwest, developed a deep passion for food at an early age. He landed his first job in a kitchen at the age of 16 and never looked back. While earning a culinary degree from Seattle Culinary Academy and a degree in Hospitality Business Management from Washington State University, Donaldson worked in numerous kitchens throughout Seattle. Donaldson was tapped to open the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort in Tucson, AZ where he spent 4 years as Chef de Cuisine as well as the food and beverage manager of the resort.

In 2008, Chef Donaldson followed his dream and opened his first restaurant – The Stone House in Redmond, WA. He opened Gather Kitchen & Bar in Ballard in 2017 with the intent to create a place where people would come together over sharable plates of food. Gather serves contemporary Northwest cuisine with a focus on local sourcing.
