FareStart is ready for summer

June 3, 2019

Nothing says summer like new menu items, new specials and eating with friends and colleagues at FareStart eateries! Here are a few examples of our freshened up menu items.

New Menu Items

Maslow’s by FareStart: Impossible Burger, House Made Falafel Salad, Pressed Cubano

We are now serving the famous Impossible Burger! This plant-based burger has been growing in popularity across the country and is the closest thing to a beef burger you can get without the beef.

Other new items are the Asian Steak Salad and a House Made Falafel Salad that will be sure to hit the spot on warm days. We also have a Pressed Cubano sandwich made with Mojo-roasted pork, shaved ham, and swiss cheese that will get those island dreams running through your head.

FareStart Restaurant: Seattle Dog, Homerun Fries, Chef Laura’s Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich

The “refresh” of the FareStart Restaurant, which is still ongoing, brought a new look to the restaurant and our menu is no exception! The Seattle Dog is our take on a lunch staple, with Smoked Flocchini brat, sriracha cream cheese, house dog sauce, grilled cider braised onions and more. The Homerun Fries are a beer-batter masterpiece that takes you to the ballpark. Chef Laura, who works with our Adult Culinary students at the FareStart Restaurant, created this satisfying sandwich with marinated grilled chicken thigh, toasted ciabatta roll, cilantro, basil, lettuce, grilled pineapple and spicy aioli.

Don't forget about our monthly specials! In June, we offer a Wild Caught Pacific Cod sandwich, a Chicken Larb salad and more.

Rise by FareStart: Rachel’s Ginger Beer and Iced Tea Lemonades

Just in time for the warm weather, we will be soon offering Rachel’s Ginger Beer! Locally crafted and based on the belief that simple ingredients and local sourcing is key, Rachel’s Ginger Beer is the perfect drink for those sunny days. We also are now serving our own take on Iced Tea Lemonade. Crisp and clear, our lemonade is refreshing and nostalgic.

New Maslow’s Meal

This month we have a new Maslow’s Meal from a chef close to home. FareStart’s own Executive Chef Timothy Delling worked with our apprentices and staff on his meal that includes Grilled Coho Salmon. Chef Timothy has been everywhere lately! He recently had his first Guest Chef Night and represented FareStart on the local KING 5 show, New Day Northwest.

All our restaurants and cafes support our job training programs and mission.
