2018 Eat. Act. Give. campaign a success

January 4, 2019

Our end of the year campaign raised more than $3.3 million to support FareStart students and programs.
We asked our community to join us in supporting FareStart students this holiday season, and so many of you stepped up in a big way! The Eat. Act. Give. campaign was a success because people just like you decided to create hope through life-changing programs and opportunities here at FareStart.

You raised more than $3.3 million for real solutions that are impacting homelessness and poverty in our community! Hundreds of people will be able to take the steps they need to put their life on a path that they choose and turn from homelessness and challenge to hope.

From everyone here at FareStart, thank you for your generosity and your dedication. It is inspiring.

We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to longtime supporter and neighbor, Amazon. Amazon matched dollar-for-dollar donations, catering sales and restaurant sales up to $1 million! Truly, this partnership has been incredible and we are excited to see it continue to grow.

Over the holiday season, organizations sponsored special holiday meals for those we serve in our Community Meal Program that included holiday favorites. To First Tech Federal Credit Union, F5 and Bloomberg Philanthropies, thank you.

A special thanks to Lane Powell, Fox Rothschild, US Bank, Seattle Credit Union, Whole Foods and Synchrony Bank for hosting our holiday trees in their offices. The holiday trees were decorated with tags that highlighted helpful gift ideas for FareStart students that customers or community members could purchase.

To our tireless volunteers who cooked, delivered and served meals, we can’t tell you how much your time and skills mean to the success of FareStart students. You never let us down.

This year, FareStart will serve hundreds of adults and youth as they journey toward a path of self-sufficiency and opportunity because of the continuing support of individuals, businesses, and partners. We are grateful to be a part of such a generous community.

Together, we are turning homelessness into hope.
