What is the Youth Barista Training & Education?

An eight-week program that teaches youth barista and employment skills, while providing the long-term support necessary for youth to explore personal goals and prepare for long-term employment and education.

The program offers its students the following training/services:

Employment Skill Training

  • Hands-on Barista Training
  • Customer Service Training
  • Career Exploration & Internships

Education Services

  • Goal setting
  • Enrollment in GED, Community College and certificate programs
  • Assistance with books, tuition and tutoring

Support Services

  • Shelter and long-term Housing Assistance
  • Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Counseling
  • Access to health care, food and other basic needs

Eligibility:

To become part of the Youth Barista Training & Education Program, youth must be homeless and between the ages of 16-21.  Program requires at least one year of support services through YouthCare.
