Internships at FareStart

Are you interested in interning with FareStart? We have a number of internships annually. If you are in college, check with your school about receiving academic credit and/or stipend for your internship at FareStart.

Available opportunities include:

  • The Mission Continues Fellowship – FareStart has partnered with the non-profit organization The Mission Continues to seek a military veteran for a fellowship opportunity. The Mission Continues provides opportunities for honorably discharged post-9/11 veterans to continue to serve their communities by participating in a 23-week fellowship program. FareStart is fortunate to have this opportunity, and will be utilizing this position to support our Adult Training Program outreach team in connecting with community referral partners. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to gain a deeper understanding of the social service landscape in Seattle/King County, develop effective networking skills, and play a key role in establishing referral partnerships that will create life-changing opportunities for individuals who have faced homelessness and other barriers to employment and self-sufficiency. This position is eligible for a living wage stipend provided through The Mission Continues. More information is available here or by contacting Rob Light at FareStart at rob@farestart.org.

  • Special Event Internships – Offered twice per year for each of our major fundraising events. Contact volunteer@farestart.org to learn more or apply.
    • Spring/Summer: Mar 15 to Jul 1 (applications accepted until Feb 15 with decisions made Mar 1)
    • Summer/Fall: mid-Jul to Nov 1 (applications accepted until Jun 24 with decisions made Jul 9)

  • Nutritional/Dietetic Internships – The length of this internship varies depending on mutual arrangement. Contact volunteer@farestart.org to learn more or apply.

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Able to commit to the full internship period 15 to 30 hours per week for 10-16 weeks
